Representatives from units and departments across the college were excited to get back to what they love to do: interacting with K–12 groups in the Knoxville community and beyond.


The goal of this work is to develop best practices and models for training pre-service teachers to teach engineering effectively.


The camp traveled across the state of Tennessee running an activity center that introduced students to power engineering, communication, and problem solving through a virtual reality game.


These programs, held both remotely and on campus, gave students the opportunity to learn more about engineering.


The two programs for elementary and middle school students are self-paced and require participants to complete four engineering design challenges and submit their results. The offerings for high school students are virtual programs that include a Canvas course and Zoom meetings and run from July 19–30.
